Top 28" x 36"and 20" high. Have to re-do the photos since they don't show the inner glow of the bloodwood or the grain patterns and depth of the mesquite. This is it for now. The mesquite top is cut from flitch cuts of mesquite and I just let it be wavy instead of losing all that surface that was the shape of the tree. The bloodwood base is exquisite -- it's an expensive wood (so is mesquite) and usually one wouldn't make something as big as a table out of it. Finished with two coats of clear Danish oil and a hard coat of pure beeswax.

The top and the base are held together by a dozen 1/4" hex bolts sitting in oversize holes, and the two parts are waxed so they won't bond together. These features will let the table top expand and contract with the seasons and it will not split 100 years from now. The joints have dozens of screws countersunk through the accent stripes and the mesquite, and then each joint has six biscuits in it too.
